About Bineswar Brahma Engineering College
Bineswar Brahma Engineering College (BBEC) is located at Kokrajhar in Assam. The institute is around 5 kms away from Kokrajhar town.
In the year 2006, the Govt. of Assam declared that an Engineering College would be set up at Kokrajhar. Accordingly after two years of the decision, the foundation stone of the college was laid by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on 16th August 2008 at Chandrapara, a village nearby Kokrajhar town. The college was named after Bineswar Brahma i.e. Bineswar Brahma Engineering College (BBEC). Bineswar Brahma was an eminent member of the Bodo Community. He was a very active social worker who had to sacrifice his life for the development of Bodo community. He is known as “Subungthini Thandwi” among Bodos. So, decision was made among intellectuals & this Engineering College was named after him.
Prof. Palash Jyoti Hazarika was the first Protem Principal of the college and the college started functioning from the academic session 2010-11 with two branches with intake capacity 60 in each 1. Chemical & Process Control Engineering 2. Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering. The two branches upgrade in the academic session 2013-14 as
